We have specialized in family pets since 1984, we use "dog friendly" methods to create "people friendly" dogs.
Margaret Jones Davis founded Creative Dog Training, Inc. in 1984. She is a member of the Association Of Pet Dog Trainers; she has attended numerous seminars and educational programs, including Cornell University and Volhard's Instructor School Training Camps. She has also been a paid speaker at local veterinary associations, as well as Alabama Power Company Conferences. In her time as a trainer, she has earned the respect and recognition of local veterinarians, and will be very happy to furnish you with references. The field of dog training is an unlicensed, buyer beware industry. She encourages everyone to tour our facility, observe our classes and daycare groups, and ask her about her qualifications to be your dog trainer.
Margaret’s goal is to educate you and your dog so that you may enjoy your dog as she enjoys her own dogs. She believes in positive reinforcement and in teaching a dog what it is that she wants, before using any negative reinforcement for not obeying. She does not believe in hitting dogs, nor does she shake dogs, grab their muzzles, scream at them, chase them, or roll them over. She prefers subtle alpha rules that teach the dog in a nice human way that she is in charge. She teaches her own methods of dog training that has been developed in the past seventeen years.
