I have a 5 month old Maltipom. I have him for 2 weeks and am using a crate to train him. he never goes in the crate and until the past few days was not having any accidents in the house either. He can go up to 5-6 hours without having to pee. All of a sudden he will pee in the house even after he has emptied his bladder outside. i don't get it and the breeder I got him from told me his bladder was stretching and that this behavior would be gone in a week. I was just about to start giving him more privileges in the house. Any ideas or as to why he started doing this??

You have made excellent progress! Are you following our three rules of house training? Our rules are: wearing a long line outside, wearing a short lash inside (in your line of visual sight), or in the crate. Make sure that you are not praising your puppy while he is urinating outside. Praise can interrupt him causing him not to ‘finish’. Avoid punishment! Redirect accidents using your leash. Earn our pup’s respect with our basic respect 101 classes. Make sure that you monitor your pup’s water intake. What are you feeding your puppy?

Everyone at Creative Dog Training thanks you for taking the time to read our message board!

The advice I gave was specific to the question I was answering. It may not be exactly what you need for your dog and situation. If you are having a similar problem, please post something so we can help.

Also remember, this is just my advice to what I've read here, please consult a trainer in your area for detailed help.
