We have adopted a wonderful sweet loving Springer who is one year old. She is so loving, BUT she barks at everything. At first, she had to get use to the noises our house makes. But, while watching any show on TV that has a dog that is barking no matter how loud, she starts barking and running throughout the house. She checks all door and windows and then looks at me and cries because I'm not concerned. Also, I need to get her attention and distract her from doing this outside and inside the house. I need to know how to get her to pay attention to me. We have also had to buy a harness, because of the pulling on the leash as she is very strong. This is just the beginning of more questions to come. Thanks

Congratulations! I have a rescue dog too. He is also a very loving little guy. That said, he has issues! I follow my own rules with Bruce Willis. He is on a long line outside, wears his leash is the house in my line of sight, or is in his crate. Once he has completed basic respect 101 and mastering the basics he will be allowed to earn freedom. Please follow these same guidelines with your little Springer girl. Please contact us if you live in our area. Choosing a harness to attempt to control the behavior you are describing is like swimming upstream against a tidal wave. Please consult with us, or a qualified trainer in your area as soon as possible.

Everyone at Creative Dog Training thanks you for taking the time to read our message board!

PLEASE NOTE:
The advice I gave was specific to the question I was answering. It may not be exactly what you need for your dog and situation. If you are having a similar problem, please post something so we can help.

Also remember, this is just my advice to what I've read here, please consult a trainer in your area for detailed help.

Thank You
